WHY FURNITURE MATTERS
The end life of furniture is just the beginning of the problem, here is why it matters...
In the Netherlands alone, over 11 billion kilos of furniture is discarded every year from both private individuals and businesses. Unfortunately only 10% is recycled and the rest ends up in landfills. With the biggest disposal channel being incineration due to the complexity of the materials and design, over 15 million tonnes of carbon emissions are emitted every year. From the business sector alone, 1/6 million kilos are discarded every year which narrows down to over 230,000 kilos incinerated everyday. That’s over 5 football fields filled with discarded furniture — daily. With the hotel industry being one of the main contributors to large scale furniture, this is our starting point and as we grow, learn and build, we intend to expand our impact to other sectors with furniture in high volume.
Our goal is to drive zero furniture waste by making hotel furniture reuse easy, traceable and cheaper for your business!

From a bold idea to a circular mission
Founded in 2024, by FurnZero was created to rethink how businesses manage furniture in use and life. What began as a bold idea to tackle furniture waste has grown into a mission to make reuse seamless and impactful. Rooted in circular design principles, technology and a vision for a waste-free future, FurnZero is helping the furniture industry close the loop — starting with the hotel sector.
